I know that summer is my favorite time of year because it means that our days are long and there is a lot of sunlight and I honestly can say that I really don't mind the heat. It really is all about the sunshine for me. :) One of my favorite holidays is in July...yep, July 4th. I love going to firework displays, watching our local 4th of July parade and having cookouts with family and friends. Of course on the farm it also means wheat harvest and baling straw in the heat. Even with that there is nothing like coming home and being able to have a glass of fresh, ice cold lemonade and sitting in our rocking chairs.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA013VlL8KTuhLuw5ecqmLHaUyXho7YKkIPtRxO9x-p6vDilStfVemD1hNzYz0Zx5PRSwiha5Kt8zZFpfK_K7eSrK2bEKO1uoE3gLGtAbw58nklUys9fIj16Ij3lrXucsQtbeZfDFa3KSK/s1600/DSC05249.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA013VlL8KTuhLuw5ecqmLHaUyXho7YKkIPtRxO9x-p6vDilStfVemD1hNzYz0Zx5PRSwiha5Kt8zZFpfK_K7eSrK2bEKO1uoE3gLGtAbw58nklUys9fIj16Ij3lrXucsQtbeZfDFa3KSK/s400/DSC05249.JPG" width="300px" /></a></div><div class="" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">Now that school is out and our summer vacation has begun, I have been diligently trying to find a full time job with benefits. For now, I don't know where this path may lead, but I have told God that where He leads I will follow. The unknown can be really difficult and scary, especially when you are paying out of pocket for health insurance and your budget has really tightened up. So for now my days are full of prayer, spending hours on the computer job hunting and a little decorating or in some cases redecorating. My motto right now is "seeing the joy in the journey." </div><br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Recently I wanted to redecorate the top of my cupboards in my kitchen since I have a couple of small collections started with scales, small crocks and lanterns. Most of my small crocks and lanterns were inherited from my grandma and I feel so blessed to be able to have the space to display them. Since I didn't take any before photos, I will leave you with my finished pictures. I am really enjoying how it turned out, especially being able to display my small collections together. </div><br />

It certainly has been a quick summer and fall, though I suppose during times of trial the days fly by without one realizing it. And yes, this past summer and fall have certainly been trying for not only myself but my husband as well. We were so excited and hopeful at the beginning of summer for the chance to start our family and as the process has gone on, it is now apparent that our options are going to be quite costly and extremely emotional. I won't go into length about the details, but if you would like, please feel free to check out <a href="http://reillyfarmwifeprayingtobecomepregnant.blogspot.com/">my other blog</a> and read my last post. </div></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">It tells about our emotional journey these past few months and the reason why my heart has been aching. So, in confession, I honestly haven't been much into my decorating like I should have been. Thankfully with the inspiration of a truly amazing magazine, <a href="http://www.aprimitiveplace.org/APP-Magazine.html">A Primitive Place</a>, a wonderful craft show, <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mount-Vernon-OH/Simple-Goods/118771224727">Simple Goods</a>, and the holidays coming, I can get back to my old self and my passion for prims and decorating. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibsjEPzq-e5jhGA5mkLr9ZOc3rRssiQ6XgncXbWeEFWfB3EbegxTW8tKt3o-KHIOVFyzoB9QYnFisNfiiUEfkOSjmhl4i6FVOffwm-MFxuLVZ5k4uHxXMWvkN_oOcMYorQvXEXWfk9jgdV/s1600/bar4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="15" ox="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibsjEPzq-e5jhGA5mkLr9ZOc3rRssiQ6XgncXbWeEFWfB3EbegxTW8tKt3o-KHIOVFyzoB9QYnFisNfiiUEfkOSjmhl4i6FVOffwm-MFxuLVZ5k4uHxXMWvkN_oOcMYorQvXEXWfk9jgdV/s400/bar4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">A little over a week ago I was talking with Lisa from <a href="http://primsfromabove.blogspot.com/">Primitives From Above</a> on the phone and she told me that her newest prim craft was dehydrating oranges for ornaments and bowl fillers. She sent me some pictures of the dehydrator that she had purchased at Walmart and the oranges that she had dried, and well... I just have to tell ya that I was totally hooked! Hooked, line and sinker was more like it! I just had to have one of my own so that I could make those beautiful prim ornaments for our Christmas trees and decorations. So, with my grocery list in hand, I jotted down a dehydrator and oranges. On Wednesday, my weekly trip to the store, I too purchased an Oster dehydrator and totally fell in love with it. Yep, it is totally one of my new favorite prim toys! lol I am so excited because I now can have those beautiful looking ornaments that were in A Primitive Place magazine. Yeah!!!! If I haven't told you yet, I absolutely love, love, love this magazine. And... if you haven't subscribed yet, DO IT!!!! You will enjoy it so much, I promise! </div></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQmNJDVyItzEw1Vk5uGpRfV18RLwY-8cdW5OaCknKjpu04nzxko05RLJqnsObYOvGCvRIs4125AKao6knoxnbtK0TmumPbVmZYckiBtTZ6WftOWiqTTZhPeZ63Y2DQFZ_g5z8b3aqnTgBe/s1600/bar4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="15" ox="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQmNJDVyItzEw1Vk5uGpRfV18RLwY-8cdW5OaCknKjpu04nzxko05RLJqnsObYOvGCvRIs4125AKao6knoxnbtK0TmumPbVmZYckiBtTZ6WftOWiqTTZhPeZ63Y2DQFZ_g5z8b3aqnTgBe/s400/bar4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">All right, what do you say we get on with some of the pictures of how I dried my oranges yesterday. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

If any of you have done this before, I'd love to know what you used as your string. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">My parents were coming up for the weekend and I was supposed to be getting things done for their arrival and instead I spent the morning searching out some local garage sales! Well this past Friday I had some errands that needed to be taken care of, so I headed into town early that morning. After looking at our local newspaper on Thursday night, I had decided that I would stop at one sale that was advertising primitives and antiques. Sometimes they are great sales and sometimes they are not what you might have expected. This sale proved for me to be one that I was able to find and purchase some inexpensive items at. :) As I was finishing my errands that morning, I came across two other garage sales with antiques and spent several minutes looking at them and ultimately buying a couple of things at. Most of the time I only go to a garage sale once, but this morning I actually went back to the first one that I had stopped at and also to one other that I was deciding on getting or not getting two prim/antique benches at. Hmmmm ~ decisions, decisions... I know. And, as you can guess, I did purchase the two great benches for what I think was a really good deal. Alright, now on to the pictures!!! :) </div><br />
This small crock light and lamp shade cost me only $10, which I thought was worth it because the crock or shade itself would normally cost you about that. <br />

</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">I am finally on summer vacation and very excited! There are lots of things on my to do list, including getting lots of pictures of my primitives for my blog and facebook pages. :) </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Before I get started with the pictures of my new bed quilt and my outside prims, I really could use some help!!! I can't seem to get my header to show the whole picture!!! If you can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Didn't know if any of you were experiencing the same difficulty I have been. It is sooooo frustrating. </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Alright, on to the pictures...</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

I thought it was a great match to my new wall color. For a while now I have been looking at trying to get a prim one, but have found that they are really expensive! So... I was very excited to come across this one, and even though it is not a true prim quilt, it matches my prim decor quite well. So what do you think? :)</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">Here are some pictures of the primitives that I have outside this summer. It seems like it is always changing from year to year, especially as I go and find more goodies at the local auctions and garage sales! One of my newest items is a hand cultivator, which I have been hunting for several years to find. And wouldn't you know it, I found one at an antique shop that has been closed for 3 years! The dear owner just happened to be outside mowing and let me in and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. When I mentioned the hand cultivator, he said he had one and had actually knocked it off the wall in the barn a couple of days before. This antique is in great condition! For some reason hand cultivators are getting harder and harder to find and when you do, they are not always in the best condition with their handles and cultivators broken and or missing. So, as you can imagine my excitement to find the one I did!!! </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">The next picture is of something I found in our basement (cellar) a year ago and my dear hubby fixed for me a few weeks ago. I was really excited to come across this because the farmhouse that we live in is the one that my husband's paternal grandmother was born and raised in. This is part of the family heirlooms! Neat huh!!! Grandma is 91 years young, which makes our house well over 100 years old! How amazing!!!</div><div class="" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">Here is a cute lil' wagon that I found at a garage sale this year. I have often thought of wanting one and this was a little different than what I had in mind. The wagon here has the wooden sides that remove, the kind that we had when I was child. What I was thinking about was a metal wagon, but this one caught my eye because it is different. When I first saw it, I could imagine putting a planter of flowers in it. :) How cute is that!!! I just love it...</div><div class="" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

I love it, don't you. What is so nice about this flag is the fact that it is not supposed to fade in the sun, which is really nice because I certainly have had many fade in the past. Got this one at our local Pat Catan's store. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

So far the weather has been beautiful during these first few weeks of the new season. We have had quite a few above normal temperature days, which has been nice. I have waited all <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">wynter</span> long for the warmer and sunnier days of spring to come. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Wynter</span> is not my favorite season, but I do realize that we must have the snow and colder temperatures to be able to enjoy the renewal that spring brings to us.<br /><br />As I have been getting into more of the technology age; which even at 33, can still be somewhat intimidating, I have become a new <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">facebook</span> user and now have a blackberry to keep up with all of the happenings. Who would have thought that back when I was a child we would be sharing our lives in such wonderful ways like we do today and be able to connect with so many wonderful friends. It certainly is exciting!<br /><br />Just a couple of days ago, I found a web site through <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">facebook</span> that showcases a primitive magazine. This magazine is a new find for me; had never heard of it. It is called <a href="http://asimplelifemagazine.com/">"A Simple Life"</a>. It looks simply fantastic and a new must have for my magazine collection! Go check out this site...especially if you love reading about history!<br /><br /><div>I know how we all love pictures of our <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">prims</span>, so today I will leave you with a picture of a new prim that I bought a few weeks ago at my local craft store, The Picket Fence. This beauty will end up in my laundry room someday soon. When I laid my eyes on it, I just couldn't take them off. So... it came home with me! Don't you just love it, I do!<br /></div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5460942324875099906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKCQlbVNUWUCjPpFFCCSAESm0SsmPKDDSO3gH3y1JD5ZAvsXK-Qlddv9ZeJ2lqyRiG8TlYJ58ldgo9j8Y5_BdJPJnMOF6wRkx-LdErN6OTG1g9urypsBXC80TANsEReis8iVCfV9DGy4Vg/s400/DSC03575.JPG" border="0" /></div><p>Until next time... have a great day and may many blessings come to each of you today and always.</p><p>Blessings and perfect <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">prims</span>,</p><p>Stacey</p>Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09657418120443199657noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720834787251876839.post-41992980046448834302009-12-30T06:31:00.000-08:002009-12-30T07:46:30.780-08:00Welcome Wynter!Well winter is officially here and yep, we got our first snow of the season, with more expected tonight and throughout the weekend. So, New Year's 2010 will be a white one for us. I hope that all of you had a very blessed Christmas with your families and friends. The Reilly's certainly were blessed this year. Christmas Eve service at church was so beautiful and uplifting. My parents came here to our home this year, along with my sister and her dog Trixie. They got to our home on Christmas Eve and left on Christmas Day because my sister works in retail and needed to be back to work on the 26th.<br /><br />Did anyone do any shopping on the 26th? I did, but was pretty disappointed in not being able to find the 100 count strands of clear white lights. I usually buy before and after Christmas and this year it seemed like that every store that I went to did not have any. Normally I would be stocked up, but not this year. Oh well, hopefully what I have will get me through another year, because you know me, I LOVE LIGHTS! :) What did I buy? Well I found wrapping paper, gift boxes and my cards for next year. Yes, I should be thankful that I found that much huh! lol So, what kinds of finds did you girls come across?<br /><br />I have been taking pictures of my Christmas decorations, but feel like it is a little late to be putting them on here now. They will probably be coming down sooner than later because of going back to school next week. I would like for all of that to be done before then.<br /><br />Today I will leave you with some pictures of what I took outside yesterday while the sun was out. We have had some snow here, actually it just came on Sunday and Monday. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day it was in the 40's and raining. So, here is what it looks like now around our home. Enjoy the pictures. The wind was so strong that it blew the snow around so much that my best guess is that we got somewhere around 5 inches. But not 100% sure. :) All right let's get to the pictures.<br /><br />The first picture that you will see here was taken at night as it was snowing. I think it turned out pretty neat if I do say so myself.<br /><br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5421041336543921906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW6FJr8_u2TyJVn1gF2wIqhJu0YiuDSlion9rc0MQQHs94VeM1rXWmmE61YM7rKKeDdrbSgiQ7f7n4mpb6_TdWvxVju-Sd81OxJ2ZpvMQy6sT3hYIIxAm95g7wfJGjHMvgn2X_WVyQCx6J/s400/DSC03405.JPG" border="0" /> Here is a picture of my beautiful sister and her sweet Trixie. Our harvest season is now in the books, which had started many weeks ago. At the early part of September we knew that it was going to be a long one for us, we just didn't know how long. Thankfully we are done and finished up last week. My thoughts and prayers go out to those farm families who are still working on shelling corn. The weather has been quite the challenge this fall for many, including us. Finally things are settling back down and I have been able to get most of my Christmas decorations up both inside and outside as well. After church I plan on getting the little things out and tweaking a little before I will be finally finished. Pictures will be coming in the future of my finished decorations. As you may know Christmas is my favorite holiday and I am very excited and full of happiness and joy when I decorate knowing that we are celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior!<br /><br /><br />I will leave you this morning with some pictures of what it looked like during our harvest. You will even get to see what it is like to take a ride in the combine! :)<br /><br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5412080509239207234" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSZyRS2EyTrRbkCUDm86iFz0gI_YIBTy0qCMY-VSmEf0RQbaJN54y-S9YkfQ5yxFDXV_05T3YFieFeomDuO9Ql3Z1iqhELNeG0BUkspgVVBqnCq3J1YgTWw_dqwFXJI50Tw_lBPDLUp3Z2/s400/DSC03096.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5412080793023307810" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuVwssVTwkPnVE7RwR9BXheVp5KLCoJCPCCdwpQDFVfXiejHBsO8NoFxEieMb3uZzQdwnRpfojL_dRxxDfIIF2GUsxokWgWAVm9dQa-W88mT9Wi9lmndKZ08zukPPrzPp_4sV3gPkOThML/s400/DSC03099.JPG" border="0" /><br />This is what the corn looks like after is goes through the combine and then out the back. No joke! Talk about wanting to scream everyday. Pink is NOT one of my favorite prim colors. For a little girl, maybe, but then again, I probably wouldn't paint it this color anyway if we ever have a little girl. Okay, I know you are all wondering then why in the world was it painted that color? Was it a little girl's room? Nope. Were you crazy when you painted this room? Nope! Alright, the reason the bedroom was painted this color has to due with my husband's ex-wife and her love of odd colors and style. Let's just say that I have had a lot of work to do around our wonderful farmhouse, and yep, there is still a lot of work to keep me very busy for a very long time to come. She loved what seemed to be crayola crayon colors, as you will see in the future in other rooms in our homestead. This is certainly a little bit much for myself, but that was her and what she liked. So, when my husband came home one day from work, and well, you see what she had done to their bedroom?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!! YIKES!!! was my reaction when I first came to visit Scott when we were starting to date.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394490199063243234" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ955_WmkXDqWo3Na7jK9HCyMLmPWBdJfyqpyd-tFMCUqSF5Ql6CF8rcLhdbEWR03e3n4ASSfWGNynK-CEq1IqVbRozhm-466pJEazWhjJfG1iDCZhUXnnimD06Eo6_FEAZ0HsH4RP8o7f/s400/DSC00865.JPG" border="0" />Thankfully I finally got the bedroom painted over this past Labor Day weekend. What a relief it has been to <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">actually</span> get excited about decorating it for us and making it reflect our lives now. I will be sharing pictures of our bedroom a little bit at a time, because I took pictures tonight and was not really very happy with them. The new color on the walls seems to be a bit different in each picture, so you will have to stay tuned as I reveal more pictures of our bedroom. I really hope you enjoy the few pictures that I have to share with you now and am looking forward to sharing more with you real soon. <br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394493283488927522" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAghhiAP9sR54ZPYWkIfltELB65qObzX6mh0nhcl0PxBql2xbhnnAijW5FD2LbPwmK1IHQnN4VM_JWGBFFWYMErGhOIrOIG8xb1FUC0I-7lNhLNjnBDY-ZFhZS3WKpFFy5nGYJsc8G01e5/s400/DSC02985.JPG" border="0" /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394493700203748562" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrNOTz5Bz1BfMDVD14zdHpJNDBhurT9eBHhw78mBlHUiOwegB7ZRSq1n4xci2Xa980poMsr-gynNkwnNnF4KvIv5ld9LmwOA_JGehICrZhd-5KuY4ZRqgtUPLyWxLm1Gmp2uuhsx-p41To/s400/DSC03017.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394494088641541826" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgCKRXeVkLELlRtBBXtqNMgMpr-mvOyWyIaiYfkyiwzzovcWXh1RJZYjx-05_uMb5C4doyKXlAXfm0bLjNTQMTtQSa8lFrpoHQFI6upyzsERrB4VN8uioUNfpm6xQGYfO3syDk1GooBG0H/s400/DSC02999.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394494704819148834" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAHiJkI_Sy5-FY1t8BqfzB-3PVdWIynfkcOfqiN9sVxd6QMQiHDRj_L7AOXYDlwRgZvBQWZvzO6atiyOZqDrZMvdiElBez7syFoqSitzQsjqsLcIc4vBmRIB0EFYWcew6NUDskFGdSZS2F/s400/DSC02989.JPG" border="0" />So, what do all of your bedrooms look like? So, a couple of weeks ago, I took the plunge and got a brand new 6 foot one. I absolutely love it! This tree is made with the larger grapevine and not the smaller kind that was used with the ones that I replaced. They are really bad and so I did not take any pictures of them, but I am certainly going to share my new tree with you. The old ones had holes you could see through and their shape, well, all I can say is, what shape. Alright so here is my new tree, both in the daytime and at night. Enjoy! I know lots of you have them, and one of my favorite things is decorating it often for the seasons, and not to mention I love, love, love lights!!! My dad says that if I put a light on top of our house then people might think it was an airport! (lol) Yeah, that's how much I love lights!!!!!!!<br /><br /><div></div><div></div><div>Here it is...</div><br /><div></div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390440536893213554" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTQBXxaj2zQw8WGiF3ukxLNprJsSWyYPL4in4f1sU9-2EKrM2_-sXpRNewHn6978wZXltnxQJEb-uwD0D5XPIhy1qaEpiyqnl3PlxlRsLnsRk552of2fuLnGQ3cxbIssBSuiIBNIR-zswg/s400/DSC02879.JPG" border="0" /></div><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390441067025382050" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzK7WS9regYmcSNVHJSwm5nIVIgR1iKISG5bHQfY6qo5Rs9S-SGD6vcI8vxist2CbBkOZJzuoM8qj7EWYocRjp-Gkwlm8d7cFhrz1q72dB9kfAcPN5tCiBK9iJPTo1ciE1Q64nNhQ0gor9/s400/DSC02883.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390441517084809794" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqAjwjd_MTutKXnWCzMupbUpp4uO9pkvu0TEMUPSVsEt1SpcyOf4q463AtdZKQSb6bZ7ougwoeTym4Wh2K6x-LNTKXHmYLNeMOZyd_BKTgsYodvLQs2bHAbBgWP_Z3C3FM8wKnpFUcjB7S/s400/DSC02918.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390442085996217266" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfxnCCykPd1btUKtKivstBY69cPpmiVkh9qWH1HM4ihnrImh-DSw7Z_DU7woML_kVJDdpjxYmdaZRbec8ggFOJiM8AeGH8f6ZI9lPJKxlXjjX724tzzUDwlHnLaJYVJw9Wdfcm4suqbmyT/s400/DSC02944.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390442597715187090" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1A-wCsuB_4qsM7y3nCO-VItR-Sdd2sZk_ZTCEBimYgbjXtDHhyphenhyphenXhrHk4wrM_jLgcymxQlPMwSMpDbea94Ff4xw2JiiCogvQ0WMsxORTm7UlmourWyouiEAtVleoLFjwCBtH5HTo4hSfPi/s400/DSC02927.JPG" border="0" /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390443359274418450" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8MRV3w3D1CfD8t8wFWetr8RNbbirennm3n40xGgyd9iKfjOixMYhyznSOdTw9_w0pqMGLhC36A_PZILQ_xHAFgv2v2IRmqeoY1yrT0JiaoTiQDWPeS5ScBPmk8RIbrhxqg2hGYBvVTjLw/s400/DSC02928.JPG" border="0" /></p><p>Hope you enjoyed the pics of my new grapevine tree! Uh huh, May 21st, I believe. Well, the only reason or answer that I have as to why it has been so long is that I have been really busy! I know what you are all thinking, <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">aren't</span>' we all Stacey. With me, when I get extremely busy, like I have been for the last several months, the computer and blogging end up on the bottom of my priority list. If you would like to read all about the happenings over these last few months, then I invite you to go over to <a href="http://reillyfarmwifeprayingtobecomepregnant.blogspot.com/">my reilly farm wife blog </a>and find out. :)<br /><br />With my apology being given, I hope that you will come back and see me often. Yes, I have had the chance to go and pick up many neat items at the TS, garage sales and auctions. So, in the near future I hope to be able to take pictures of these items and then post them.<br /><br />Fall is my favorite season for many reasons. First and foremost I love harvest and what farmgirl doesn't like to be on a tractor! Whew how I love, love, love it!!! Second, I love prim decorating and the colors that the season brings. Third, well, it means back to school time again and as a teacher, I can say that, yes, I do get anxiuos around that time too. Well, with that in mind, I thought that after I took about 40 pictures today around the outside of my home that I would share some of them with you. Thankfully the wind has not been too damaging on my things, seeing how it was blowing at 40 miles an hour last night! Without further delay, here are some pictures from around our farmstead. Enjoy!<br /><br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389939818409475250" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitmoJdfSj9uBxfIAKiCeYDMheqxLhtH4HIKeVbKAP5aD0NQZ4C38zl3gWxvS0mReMnolQ85G2Hn1Zj_vGAubdXsUC2IEmWhddgL80Sz8aLF-7V7wIQuiLu2wCwb7LoZcAEfe54Z6BOIiUw/s400/DSC02852.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389940595203544466" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLbglT8WDKMAzWXEhEP4t_oIabzP5OLAh0cx9ZyOZ8WcUQMmQAzDkKf7OvPDqw2L5msC64p9xLJ48Z_IS2fewokfYGg4_e7N02zwyHulbMG1h2rgl6i459ppxwCStPPMLkM3ac8d5P82Ek/s400/DSC02869.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389941165775932786" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYIjFYNkOsW0LJrB50Buztt2DLX-4TzW76xu3J6yPxRgs6bcGg_wvftpUWmXwMJIvVgfSQj_DlHeVYsGSt9bwZXsPGV5f2RtWVG-efP2544n0jP8rKiAj6a8wWfAoe-NrM2uomBWyEK0Ya/s400/DSC02862.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389941646858889826" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_RQczi6orMIBRW3ueNbTzyEZjGpEgIypOHvyN5pzsxJwlvG5J32mjM3zVMq50a_mss72h9LrPHZHE7gFu6cvqiybnJ8rWOXBtPi7AClVyHeDp6YIRs9DU8VJVai17c-WV5_zpDm1SrUdt/s400/DSC02859.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389942298927954610" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhldwMKZVc_lKqBWFXz5VNMqLg62QeUl9kESbnzg97HggjcPiccdmuXMc98p8sYp4oFLvq0NrlXzsHT-uJsqYUmg23q908w2AXTQzO_udjkKRBORnCfBhvGEtaajTBOsanzmtRUoQBm3jxK/s400/DSC02868.JPG" border="0" /></p><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389942851790741618" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWpYvOCuKBvvioC-ovtJA3JNGgGM4MigAx2wF0V13CM3uIVRPeB3PMNr5oYPxvAjZj0VKurUzOOt8SC26Zyqz7iB3dq7FGMCV3IT0ne76xTVRlp6MBRc1XvISI1x1zR2yIvu7B9shpZf51/s400/DSC02856.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389943464201759250" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMFRMFjvXsVT5WN53i5NDtZLqEuJ_DCIlBee0kMxsoGr0WhLflAYsrc28vEF0i1jVQcYq8KCe0PC6bCZYs1NP4A4tXdl8PpcqtBEQtfAMloeg0oXMH1uWDOe6lPeVT6Hb9NiI9kOU1btZQ/s400/DSC02858.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389944046746069346" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSX-nG3QySiKSN2DtMRwszlLz7LBA1ErhsF8AbKkPFpuPiEB8jHaHrWTrdLFru4cN7S-7crPYa0-COJYi2Tz_jTvuQ6FL0rugbZ2i6W9quR-QnBfDMegHjcI6eLrntRJOPUYPNs7PXrM4h/s400/DSC02872.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389944739523085410" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIDdPJCY_EGGg3R-44J3VJSlZGz6mk_swCU8Om317qdVBC6Zpfj10JEryKgdUogrPyOLzID54cXKTHpPQSbIPtH_kiNuNXiGymBrOOIVg2XYNyp9vQ1wdU0BibrYc2bjITjbEWwZUfhYJb/s400/DSC02873.JPG" border="0" /><br /></p><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389945234622770482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo26hcwxvd-FaWplxUV1VqFHW1ei9ZdgGVSpFuPqufQyG8lkDM7TUMWFV5Gedzv1eqGrKlLg5h24yX1Gotf9e6ZxbE_BGt-7aaguH-7rUEKUbiLdb-MbdkisVCHBDi5C_zO0yqMe52VkEl/s400/DSC02874.JPG" border="0" /></p><p>Happy Fall Y'all!!! I hope that you enjoyed the pictures that I had to share. No, I do not have much done in my home, but I will be sure to post pictures when I get that all finished as well. Just like my post from yesterday, all of these things I am using outside as part of my garden & landscape decorations. Keep in mind the season is still young! I will be searching through our local paper to see if there are any community sales going on this weekend. If I can remember, I think that there is one going on really close, like uptown. Hopefully the radio did not steer me wrong. Oh well, I will just have to check the newspaper out.<br /><br />Okay, enough of my rambling, here are the goodies...<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338483176743139714" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUkNYsXIzKjdQoSl8udL4AYoVmXK6bnzY_WFBBq8JvO8zcLr290xW7fzohMu2goIfP8-cMlSiM8EzDvm8F4ewb2MXpWXsS6qo2fJlFbCRsbaUYpYYwZwme4V9ZSoIjUQUEEVi_yGk41W4h/s400/DSC01571.JPG" border="0" />I just could not resist this Uncle Sam. The moment that I saw him I knew that I had to have him because he was going to be perfect for my white chair on the front porch. He is one of my most favorite finds so far this garage sale season.<br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338483933739247714" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2xpBYlsBVP8FICo_HBgotIb0uSvxSLswZrVpy54Jj_a0Q1RuD62ehTraGmaLgomqC_T5AXQPiWp3d6qMpg8amnXPZ0jOVBWPo5PTJ1ujHTtEmj2rV5yVSSPcI_LWb5R45BKHPw9z4nwYw/s400/DSC01579.JPG" border="0" /></p><p>This darling single wash basin was actually bought off of a friend of mine. I really could not believe that she was parting with it and so I told her that it was going to be mine. Over the holiday weekend I plan on putting flowers in it. I can hardly wait to get started on it!</p><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338489572371293058" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-O8Ue59flUE_q64t3v-O3EykVLryWCEjA2rFpHzHMR-eRIodtqYg1W1CCKQVtImJSG7nf-D9mFV-OOsWsmPmylm-lKfvfBG96WvtF0-owLvS9VLibvquOE21Cp3lwwUPceefcs5MEUtM3/s400/DSC01583.JPG" border="0" />This cute ladder also came from the same friend. She used to use it as an end table. However, I am going to be using it outside to put a nice large pot of flowers on. I also think some grapevine would look really cute on it too. What do you think? Yes, my friend and I do a lot of garage sale swapping each year, which is a lot of fun too. :)</p><p></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338489976969727042" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhClG074F85mFcxzZa7anZniI8v61aKmTxkQ4I43W37wpiS43w44mBNIosI5DIfFG2CdnZ4ysNVNJh4s2ub2GwA4k99ZeFK28GqrvpuH9VgEssF0reJ3KEp-HKFyTs3t5AW2oIs3uYG-TRI/s400/DSC01587.JPG" border="0" /> <p>One of my favorite things to look for at garage sales would have to be old farm tools. I already have several and am looking forward to getting the chance someday to display them in our breezeway. </p><p></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338486317185813154" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEWNOETUDjCg6MqAM4PxbT_fzgQxniMA1icy3ahyphenhyphenvuNEWU-TeDLtKAL0vsO3ywmvv65s2gbsFZWu1TUvzH33wIj_pygVRk9U1cdY6YVxR-he68sAGZotPaNDBYLTKc3A1fRkMdRyoK5OX3/s400/DSC01591.JPG" border="0" /> <p>Both this little bench and watering can came from my garage sale adventures within these last couple of weeks. I am still deciding where to put this little bench of mine. Hmmm? This may take me a little while to figure it out and will look forward to doing that this beautiful weekend. :)</p><p>For now that is all that I have to share of the goodies that I have found to use outside during my excursions this spring. However, I do have things that I have bought to use inside my home, which I will be posting about tomorrow. So, stay tuned... So, did you like what you saw? I know I had a lot of fun finding them and am looking forward to getting them all placed and finished like I want them to look this weekend. On Monday or maybe Tuesday I will have pictures of all the finished goodies. :)</p><p>Have a wonderful day my prim pals. May many blessings shine down on you this day. </p><p>Blessings and Perfect Prims,<br /><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/85721/sreilly/b48224b5141697384381d499cd41e429.png" border="0" /></a></p>Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09657418120443199657noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720834787251876839.post-2685701242027656012009-05-20T21:55:00.000-07:002009-05-21T20:14:55.608-07:00I Love Garage Sales!!!There are so many things that I love about spring, and one of them is garage sales! Every weekend I have been to one since they really got started back at the beginning of May. Below are a few pictures of items that I got last year when I went to a community garage sale day, actually in the same little town that I found my goodies on my trash pickin' adventure. :)<br /><br /><div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>So, here they are...</div><div><br /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338140885898499714" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNB8XOhrTuQIzsTOIpHOJR6TDouQUM901n9oTYn6WUa7JA5BV33bry1j6aNwL9ZyBmFLrux1R95DwzX6yIQatZZSUQc5FSlYJ4ka7gzFvi2H3hoXDoK3plAz0Mv9v-5gJKK0BDOXoK-RmV/s400/DSC01595.JPG" border="0" /> <div></div><div>I really like this little planter. It is sitting on the right side of my garage. It is a really cute little place to plant my verbena flowers each year. </div></div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338138867802991954" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibOA2EaVvBLSH5HPTtBFX7KsC8GWCatFd5PA0Mijo9LzMxcpx38xxBZEewu6-Khahm_oD8V_SskkoH-yDvlBqW3VicQppb2iNkT2CwB9HS4sSFGQIEhHRZN5xSEB9ghnPTiGgB5YSTMt51/s400/DSC01593.JPG" border="0" /> </div><br />These old sap buckets are some of my favorite finds. I have put pots of flowers in them each year. It gives the front of my garage a really warm and welcoming feeling. I love, love, love red flowers.<br /><br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338139237407041794" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbSA54WijXjMsoGt-53UtIHhtBTLadLtAXxCgO-VC28q9uoAhUSCiCkXxZ9DNTmJJSATVJ5wQxmOSC_j-TkkUm7enPr4C0gjoTPgZ2Hufe3vkOFfty4gtXP3op-cYD3xGQs565GDKnsVPy/s400/DSC01572.JPG" border="0" /> I also bought this large bucket and prim box as well. I will be planting red, white and blue petunias in it like I did last year. Any suggestions for what I should put on the inside of my box? It looks really cute in the front of my home.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338139852278292098" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7gJMfd567vFz91bKWHJjvuDJlAXH5jZZ-gzweOooRjHwaLd2-G7o69jvZLnMXnVRkFrbnpH2eHe-kindNxj-jQ_aQo3BfX-45fao3jDnjCYp_9kuyC5n5DIPv7DaPIE38raHxJqr23buF/s400/DSC01578.JPG" border="0" /> Here is another pot and crate that I bought. It too is in the front of my home. I also plan on planting flowers or putting greenery in the pot. What do you think? The rocks are in it right now so that the wind does not blow it away.<br /></p><p>This summer I am looking forward to actually landscaping around our home. It has not been done in many, many, many years and is so desperately in need of it.<br /><br />Hope you like what I found last year. Stop back again tomorrow and see what great finds that I purchased this year for the outside of my home. Coming soon in future posts will be the garage sale bargains that I got for the inside of my home. :)<br /><br />Blessings and Perfect Prims,<br /><br /><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/85721/sreilly/b48224b5141697384381d499cd41e429.png" border="0" /></a></p>Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09657418120443199657noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720834787251876839.post-89923560549226891792009-05-19T15:00:00.000-07:002009-05-19T15:36:03.446-07:00Trash Pickin'A couple of weeks ago I was driving through a small little town, near our home, on my way from school. This little town is so cute and had just had their community garage sales the weekend before, which of course I went to. On this particular day people were getting rid of things that they did not want anymore and were putting them out to be collected by their township. Pretty much anything goes when this once a year event happens. You can only imagine what people were getting rid of. Let me tell you, I have never trashed picked a day in my life. Yet, I found myself turning around for some treasures that I have put to use as yard decorations. The whole time I told myself, I can't believe I'm doing this! Yep, it was fun. There were lots of other people out doing the same. Well, without further rambling, here are the pictures of the pieces I picked up and loaded my van with. I hope you like them. :)<br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337661029805084738" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_J5nuP694Si_6wvNmuwKg-wgpisdcwFCVJ_9D2oyjTQ4PVFnQkbXf4mI-QnlPlQ6ZWBsydmLpcnLrVzGH2O-AfzZ2wLB2UXQY0Ukx6YCtlVJ3Sbyq3H6_Qs9Bv5KH4pPFXa4jQkfTZjeo/s400/DSC01555.JPG" border="0" /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337661574754994130" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibODb4lx4kW7rWlKXBb6zZz8Fusf8EDgWOnwFlRoQd5P-Uogx3zZjGxAgJNHKxFx22UYg1mase7We5P7xuQh4Oe28RiB84Ip5u7eXszdpMpNrxC652n6_kybuSzHImxBubbMGiSAowemMf/s400/DSC01556.JPG" border="0" /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337661948516160690" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQA1ZfQFSj_YKnHe7LZiBNAy2Rd5Kb95SC775UJXk5-s-MqEeXHERhTyNHqWhSL19qQ3FzvlezJ_hpgHPAb0jbwdzhSLksGj2mFXZCjebNMzfm8_nrmUc5wMZg-OQWpHX0Rz_mqYsY9CBS/s400/DSC01557.JPG" border="0" /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337662278094292978" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqJa4nBxwF481qo0WT20jc5A0EsZ4vSm9Zv_FdbeOjitZEbnoO1eCRrGQKjcCB3c8eZmkBVJGQ5qafm87mUikqRXTyeS3yRHbqX86aRTWUdMP-8qXyxuwaTUZPwIdFOGTQj3HvneLPPcAd/s400/DSC01560.JPG" border="0" /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337662653679941250" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjgR5AvmtcWmoG1Dd_eyiUJ_lvQF_pLDeRQrYuITkm7wR4nXbj7umNdWxNtPPFUlK2ScG5LpamGmK-ZxnMnbDpuOxU7WbniK7Xxu2HRhFuuIrCvqyzW85o6Hb4Pz0jbGfAPelJ9FHENOS0/s400/DSC01564.JPG" border="0" /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337663007051964642" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicG7JRlW33LETUpu0jKYsmv2pP0H2Edh2nBCbv_dRzNd7UnUoXHC-1oQXxAE2Rl6RVTJADDG9KyreEtvimnH4i1O2jClkx4buNU1S7cUlWISJUlCrzs8l8GS-6U-tsXgFq5NUL5bSh9u1K/s400/DSC01565.JPG" border="0" /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337663427967900770" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMG1EpJ8CNrkJJ7sEZ5m3DwltAF0bDurLAieuoF3508wjvsNHSiSrfQDKipZ1x5KpT1zvW2NN5oweOhjmV-28thyncxHTLPngObguCxd5T0D7eH4bmPYq_jdHiwY4rAZnNIzvtfpnr4Wst/s400/DSC01568.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div>So, have any of you ladies ever went trash picking before? Actually making up baskets filled with goodies is one of my favorite things to do. I love Easter, it is one of my 2 favorite holidays. Anyways, as I was getting ready for school on Monday, I got to wondering what a truly primitive Easter basket might look like and what I might do to make one. Next week I am on spring break and so I plan on trying my luck. Have you ladies thought of ever doing this or maybe you have done this? Do you have any ideas? Maybe you have some pictures? Like I said, this was just a thought. There are so many great ideas, for right now I just have to find the time to tackle some of them. <br /><br />Blessings and Perfect Prims,<br />StaceyStaceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09657418120443199657noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720834787251876839.post-89406842893900922472009-03-29T21:03:00.000-07:002009-03-29T21:22:24.429-07:00Farm Wife Updates...Hi ladies!<br /><br />I just wanted to take a few short moments here and post something new. Many things have been happening around the Reilly farm. Let's see, well, I will quickly update you...<br /><br />~ I have had a colonoscopy and EDG done to rule out some of the possible causes as to why I was having some of the symptoms that I was and thankfully everything came back fine and they were able to give me medication to help me<br /><br />~ I have been recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and have been changing my lifestyle and learning all about this disease and what I can do to help stop any complications from happening in the future<br /><br />~ My SIL had a baby boy on March 14, which unfortunately had sparked some emotional days for me because my husband and I are trying to conceive and are dealing with some infertility issues<br /><br />~ My job as a substitute teacher has gotten busier with more days<br /><br />~ Time around our farm seems to have been running short, or maybe I just had not adjusted to some of the changes that have been made, like going to the rec center and working out more often and learning how to cook better<br /><br />I plan on posting a lot more. It would be really awesome if I could post everyday, which is something that I hope to do. Let me tell you how much all of you wonderful ladies have inspired me with all of your beautiful blogs and creative ideas.<br /><br />Blessings and perfect prims,<br />Stacey<a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"></a>Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09657418120443199657noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720834787251876839.post-87851738610960146862009-02-16T14:19:00.001-08:002009-02-16T14:20:51.707-08:00Posting trouble...Hi everyone!<br /><br />I can not seem to keep my post visable and am not sure why that is? Sorry if anyone has been trying to view my blog, I didn't know that was happening before this afternoon.<br /><br />Hugs and blessings,<br />StaceyStaceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09657418120443199657noreply@blogger.com21tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720834787251876839.post-29774109940019781502009-02-11T23:30:00.001-08:002009-02-11T23:44:04.018-08:00Tea Stain RecipeI found a great site on the web that had some really wonderful primitive techniques for craft making and I wanted to share with you one of the recipes that she has on her site, which is how to tea stain fabric.<br /><br /><strong>Here is her recipe:</strong><br /><br />Tea Staining ~ Fabric Tea staining has been around a long time and was first used to hide stains on linens. It is one of the most popular ways to stain fabric and gives it a warm antique look. Different types of teas such a green tea, black tea, rasperry and herbel teas will give you different tints and tones on fabrics so don't be afraid to experiment a bit. Hibiscus tea will give you red tones while black teas give more of a soft brown or cream tone to the fabric. Tea staining works well only on natural fabrics- muslin, cotton, linen and wools dye well. It is very easy to do and just takes a few simple steps:<br /><br />~If your fabric is new be sure to wash it first to remove the sizing before dying<br /><br />~I have found 4 cups of water and 4 single cup tea bags will dye one yard of fabric<br /><br />~Bring the water to a boil and remove from heat add tea and let set for about 5 minutes until the liquid turns the desired color<br /><br />~Remove the tea bags from the water if you dont the tea bags may make dark stains on your fabric<br /><br />~Wet the fabric in water thoroughly, removing excess before putting in the tea mixture- stir gently<br /><br />~Let soak for approxiamately 10 minutes checking to see if the fabric is dark enough<br /><br />~Remember you fabric will dry a shade lighter<br /><br />~When fabric has reached the desired color remove from the tea mixture and rinse well with warm water and a mild dish soap- if you don't the fabric may become damaged by the tea- tea contains acid which can destroy fibers over time<br /><br />~Line dry or place the fabric in the dryer. I like to put the fabric in an old pillowcase to protect my dryer and if Im going to put in white clothes right after I will wipe the dryer out if it jeans I just dont worry<br /><br />~When the fabric is dry if you want it darker repeat the process , if the fabric is too dark wash the fabric in a gallon of water to which you have added 1 tablespoon of bleach this will lighten the fabric- rinse thoroughly and redry<br /><br />~If I am going to use the fabric for something that is going to be washed I will soak it in a gallon of cold water to which I have added 1 tablespoon of vinegar to set the color.<br /><br />Have fun tea staining - remember the possibilities are endless -old linens, clothes, etc can all be tea stained! There I found some really neat things that I will post pictures of on my blog Tuesday afternoon. I spent the whole day shopping at different places and of course spent some money, which is what I do unfortunately when I am depressed. To make a long story short, the reason for my depression today was the news that I am now considered a diabetic. <a href="http://reillyfarmwifeprayingtobecomepregnant.blogspot.com/">My other blog </a>tells of the journey that my husband Scott and I are going through in order to conceive our miracle. Feel free to visit anytime.<br /><br />Thank you for all of your kind words and prayers. They mean so much to me and my husband. I also wanted to let you know that I will post everyday, the time however will not always be the same. For me it is usually after Scott goes to bed that I post for the next day, like I am now. But, tomorrow, or actually today, later this afternoon, I will be posting again those pictures of my finds at Goodwill. I am very excited about them! The reason I will be posting again this afternoon is because I am a substitute teacher and have to work in the morning, which makes my time to blog a little shorter since I have to get ready for the day. It is so wonderful to have all of you following my blog, what a blessing and miracle that is for me. :) I am going to get the hang of managing both blogs here, it is just going to take me a little time to adjust because I actually go through all of my followers blogs everyday and leave them comments. So, I will catch up on all of your blogs this afternoon since I did not get to do that.<br /><br />Perfect prims and blessings,<br />StaceyStaceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09657418120443199657noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720834787251876839.post-19934611134044632022009-02-08T23:13:00.000-08:002009-02-08T23:28:35.505-08:00Silicone BulbsLights are one of my favorite things to use in my primitive farmhouse decorating. I have them EVERYWHERE, including in my windows and they stay lit all year round! Silicone bulbs can be expensive to buy, but I found a recipe for a do-it-yourself version on the web site called <a href="http://www.createaprim.com/">Create A Prim</a>. I hope to make a couple of these soon to see how this recipe turns out. Let me know if any of you try it and how it comes out. Have fun and happy primming! :)<br /><strong></strong><br /><strong>Supplies: </strong><br />~Clear or opaque 100% silicone caulking in a tube (outdoor silicone, not the one for bathrooms) – you can usually find it at your local hardware store<br />~Night light bulbs, small 5 watt bulbs, or small Christmas lights<br />~Gloves (uncured silicone can irritate your skin)<br />~A container with lid such as a margarine tub, or yogurt cup<br />~Wire<br />~A suspended wire or something to hang your bulbs on to cure<br />~A well ventilated room or do your project outside<br /><br /><strong></strong><br /><strong>Directions:</strong><br />First, always test out each bulb to make sure it works! You don’t want the aggravation of a gorgeously dipped bulb that doesn’t light up! Lol Wrap a length of wire to the metal end of your bulbs so you can hang them after dipping to cure. When dipping, you want to make sure you have enough silicone in your container to completely submerge your bulb; so use your bulb as a measuring guide, and mark a fill line on your container. Empty the tube of silicone into your container up to the fill line (you can cut off the end of the tube). To avoid bubbles, squeeze a little of the silicone into your container, then tap the container on a surface to let the bubbles rise to the top; then squeeze some more in, and tap again. Don’t stir the silicone.<br /><br />Dip the bulb slowly into the silicone, and then pull straight out without twisting for a smooth surface. Do this slowly for an even coat, and go slower when you get to the end of the bulb to create a long tip. If you twist while dipping, it will give you neat ripples on the bulb. If you get a bump or other flaw, you can rub it with an ice cube to smooth (but make sure you don’t touch the bulb with your fingers).<br /><br />Hang the bulb up to dry by the wire you attached to the bottom. Let it cure for at least three hours without touching it; then you’re done! Use the new country bulb in your candle lamps, and more!<br /><br />Happy prims and blessings,<br />StaceyStaceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09657418120443199657noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720834787251876839.post-67577446990882133272009-02-07T20:22:00.000-08:002009-02-07T20:47:00.234-08:00Barn StarsAs many of you will come to see I absolutely love stars. My primitive farmhouse is full of them. When I moved here and started decorating, I did not know just now many stars that I had, but let me tell you there are bunches of them. One of the things that I love about primitive decorating is the fact that there is so much history behind the items that I collect and display. As I was looking at the web site called <a href="http://www.createaprim.com/">Create A Prim </a>that Lisa over at <a href="http://primsfromabove.blogspot.com/">Prims From Above</a> posted about, I found a really interesting article that I wanted to share with you about barn stars. I did not know that the different colors that barns stars come in actually meant something different! Plus you will also find a little history lesson about barn stars too in this article. Enjoy!<br /><div><div></div><br /><br /><div><strong>BARN STAR:<br /></strong>n: A large metal decoration in the shape of a star; which you would usually see on the face of a barn. On early American barns they were sometimes just for aesthetics, but sometimes they represented the trademark of a specific barn builder. Although they go back to at least the 1820's in Pennsylvania, they were most popular after the American Civil War. Today, we use barn stars to decorate our walls and they have come to be known as signs of good fortune and luck. Each color has a different meaning:</div><div><br />· Black: Protection, also used to blend or bind together.</div><br /><div>· Blue: Protection, peace, calmness and spirituality.</div><br /><div>· Brown: Mother earth, also can mean friendship and strength.</div><br /><div>· Green: Growth, fertility, success in things and ideas that grow.</div><br /><div>· Orange: Abundance in career, projects and matters needing an added push.</div><br /><div>· Red: Emotions, passion, charisma, lust and creativity.</div><br /><div>· Purple: Things that are sacred.· White: Purity, power of the moon, allows energy to flow freely.</div><br /><div>· Yellow: Health in body and mind, love of man and sun, connection to God.</div><br /><div>· Yellow/Red: Passion for a healthy mind and body.</div><br /><div>· White/Red: Purity of emotion.</div><br /><div>· Red/White/Blue: Creativity, energy and peace.</div><br /><div>Here is a picture of my barn star that is on an old corn barn on our farm. Sorry the picture is so far away, but the star in this one is red. I will have to take a better picture of this barn star and some more pictures of the bounty of stars that are displayed around my home, so stay tuned! </div><br /><div>Hugs, blessings and perfect prims,<br />Stacey<br /><br /></div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300282624451708098" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlBc5WW2wFDl2vvq-Cw2W5IKfwV1T-t9Lxa_VBjcdKH0OCxe8NeEtbqdehE5y-ZTqpJHhkyloJpgwKSZFVLSi-y8ip9EIc73QJUQitftuNcKdX-s6vIYsUAGB-nWfiDC6ylaEsTzEZag9h/s400/DSC00898.JPG" border="0" /></div></div>Staceyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09657418120443199657noreply@blogger.com24tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720834787251876839.post-71599647162412781912009-02-05T10:03:00.000-08:002009-02-05T10:26:46.972-08:00Welcome!Welcome to Farm Wife Primitives!
