Primitive Easter Baskets...

I have been doing a lot of planning and thinking about Easter baskets. Actually making up baskets filled with goodies is one of my favorite things to do. I love Easter, it is one of my 2 favorite holidays. Anyways, as I was getting ready for school on Monday, I got to wondering what a truly primitive Easter basket might look like and what I might do to make one. Next week I am on spring break and so I plan on trying my luck. Have you ladies thought of ever doing this or maybe you have done this? Do you have any ideas? Maybe you have some pictures? Like I said, this was just a thought. There are so many great ideas, for right now I just have to find the time to tackle some of them.

Blessings and Perfect Prims,
Stacey

I think prim Easter baskets ar a great idea. If you are thinking of "authentically correct," then I really don't know for sure. But I imagine that they would be very simple, have dried grass, brown eggs, and maybe even a carrot or two, and some homemade pantry cakes? That's what I am envisioning anyway! :D
Have a great day!

how about a twig easter basket?

or an abandoned birds nest

eggs were dyed with flower petals, veggies or roots to achieve colors.
they could have used straw for the filler , cause unless they were on the prairie , there wouldnt have been much grass.
you could add a button string (like from "little house on the prairie")

a calico pocket

maybe a corn cob doll

let us know what you do. :)

oh, on the eggs? you wouldnt have to use actual petals and such. use regular paas egg coloring. but dont leave it in the dye long. you want the colors to look faded.
have a great day!!

Hi Stacey,

I don't think I have ever seen a prim basket. I'm sure you will come up with a great one. Please make sure to post a picture of what you do. I agree with you I enjoy Easter so much. There is a church near my mom that always has a walk and the pastor carries a cross on Easter weekend. They do it in remembrance and I think that is very moving.

Make sure you post a picture of the basket.

Blessings,

Gigi

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I saw an Easter basket in a shop in Ohio made out of old chicken wire and it was adorable. It had real dried grass in it with carrots and a bunny. They had just used old wire for the handle. Have fun with whatever you come up with and post pictures! Dawn
