Welcome Wynter!

Well winter is officially here and yep, we got our first snow of the season, with more expected tonight and throughout the weekend. So, New Year's 2010 will be a white one for us. I hope that all of you had a very blessed Christmas with your families and friends. The Reilly's certainly were blessed this year. Christmas Eve service at church was so beautiful and uplifting. My parents came here to our home this year, along with my sister and her dog Trixie. They got to our home on Christmas Eve and left on Christmas Day because my sister works in retail and needed to be back to work on the 26th.

Did anyone do any shopping on the 26th? I did, but was pretty disappointed in not being able to find the 100 count strands of clear white lights. I usually buy before and after Christmas and this year it seemed like that every store that I went to did not have any. Normally I would be stocked up, but not this year. Oh well, hopefully what I have will get me through another year, because you know me, I LOVE LIGHTS! :) What did I buy? Well I found wrapping paper, gift boxes and my cards for next year. Yes, I should be thankful that I found that much huh! lol So, what kinds of finds did you girls come across?

I have been taking pictures of my Christmas decorations, but feel like it is a little late to be putting them on here now. They will probably be coming down sooner than later because of going back to school next week. I would like for all of that to be done before then.

Today I will leave you with some pictures of what I took outside yesterday while the sun was out. We have had some snow here, actually it just came on Sunday and Monday. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day it was in the 40's and raining. So, here is what it looks like now around our home. Enjoy the pictures. The wind was so strong that it blew the snow around so much that my best guess is that we got somewhere around 5 inches. But not 100% sure. :) All right let's get to the pictures.

The first picture that you will see here was taken at night as it was snowing. I think it turned out pretty neat if I do say so myself.

Here is a picture of my beautiful sister and her sweet Trixie. She adopted this dog at the shelter a few weeks before Christmas. Isn't she cute!

Here is a picture of our 4 legged baby girl Gizmo and Trixie on Christmas morning. Boy was Santa ever good to them!

These pictures here were taken at my parent's home the weekend before Christmas. Okay, I'll admit it, I have puppy fever and would take Trixie as my own. My sister on the other doesn't think that is a good idea. Darn it!

Here are some outside pictures that I took yesterday, and as you will see Gizmo simply loves the snow!!!

I hope you all enjoyed the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them and putting them on here for you to see because I know how we all love pictures! :) Have a blessed day and until next time, I will be snapping more pictures to share with you.

2009 Harvest Is In The Books!

It is with great joy that I post today. Our harvest season is now in the books, which had started many weeks ago. At the early part of September we knew that it was going to be a long one for us, we just didn't know how long. Thankfully we are done and finished up last week. My thoughts and prayers go out to those farm families who are still working on shelling corn. The weather has been quite the challenge this fall for many, including us. Finally things are settling back down and I have been able to get most of my Christmas decorations up both inside and outside as well. After church I plan on getting the little things out and tweaking a little before I will be finally finished. Pictures will be coming in the future of my finished decorations. As you may know Christmas is my favorite holiday and I am very excited and full of happiness and joy when I decorate knowing that we are celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior!

I will leave you this morning with some pictures of what it looked like during our harvest. You will even get to see what it is like to take a ride in the combine! :)

This is what the corn looks like after is goes through the combine and then out the back. Except here it looks like it missed a couple of cornels. Kinda cute huh :)

Ever wanted to know what it was like to stand in the middle of a corn field, where here it is! (lol) You can't even see our barn that is straight ahead next to the tree on the left of the picture!

Here comes my DH down the field again, hopefully this time he will stop and pick me up! hahaha

YEAH! He is going to stop and get me! I love to ride in the combine with him. :)

Well, unfortunately my loving husband is busy and does not turn around for a picture as I climb up in the combine with him, or maybe he doesn't want his picture taken? Hmmm~ He really is such a cutie!!! teeheehee

Well the combine is full now and we need to get it put into the semi truck, so here we go!!! I never get tired of seeing this beautiful yellow corn going into our trucks!

Alright, now this is what it looks like from the inside of our combine. It is just incredible to think that with just a few small seeds, lots of tender love and care and the grace of God that a beautiful crop of corn grows this large and gives so much bounty.

Well the truck is full now! Isn't it amazing!!! Time to go and get another truck to fill and send this one to be dumped in the grain bin to be dried.

So, how did you like your ride? Fun huh!!! As if you can't tell, I love being a farmer's wife and would not change it for the world. It has been something that I have known my whole life that I wanted to be, as well as a mother and be able to raise little ones with the love and respect that their daddy, mommy and grandparents have for the land and their passion for working with God's creation.

May you all have a very blessed day and I will be sure to post more pictures of my Christmas primitives.

Our Bedroom Makeover

Well prim gals, this is the color that our bedroom WAS, UH HUH! No joke! Talk about wanting to scream everyday. Pink is NOT one of my favorite prim colors. For a little girl, maybe, but then again, I probably wouldn't paint it this color anyway if we ever have a little girl. Okay, I know you are all wondering then why in the world was it painted that color? Was it a little girl's room? Nope. Were you crazy when you painted this room? Nope! Alright, the reason the bedroom was painted this color has to due with my husband's ex-wife and her love of odd colors and style. Let's just say that I have had a lot of work to do around our wonderful farmhouse, and yep, there is still a lot of work to keep me very busy for a very long time to come. She loved what seemed to be crayola crayon colors, as you will see in the future in other rooms in our homestead. This is certainly a little bit much for myself, but that was her and what she liked. So, when my husband came home one day from work, and well, you see what she had done to their bedroom?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!! YIKES!!! was my reaction when I first came to visit Scott when we were starting to date.

Thankfully I finally got the bedroom painted over this past Labor Day weekend. What a relief it has been to actually get excited about decorating it for us and making it reflect our lives now. I will be sharing pictures of our bedroom a little bit at a time, because I took pictures tonight and was not really very happy with them. The new color on the walls seems to be a bit different in each picture, so you will have to stay tuned as I reveal more pictures of our bedroom. I really hope you enjoy the few pictures that I have to share with you now and am looking forward to sharing more with you real soon.

So, what do all of your bedrooms look like? I would love to get some more ideas on how to make our bedroom more prim perfect. Come back again soon as I will have more pictures from the daytime to share with you which will hopefully give you a better picture of the color that I chose for us. Thanks for stopping by.

My ABC's of Autumn

I saw this idea on Linda's blog over at Behind My Red Door who spotted the idea on Shanda's blog at Colonial HomeKeepings and thought that it was a great idea and one that I knew that I wanted to do. I Love My New Tree!!!

For awhile now I have been wanting to get a new grapevine tree, since the two that I have had for about 10 - 15 years were in really bad shape. So, a couple of weeks ago, I took the plunge and got a brand new 6 foot one. I absolutely love it! This tree is made with the larger grapevine and not the smaller kind that was used with the ones that I replaced. They are really bad and so I did not take any pictures of them, but I am certainly going to share my new tree with you. The old ones had holes you could see through and their shape, well, all I can say is, what shape. Alright so here is my new tree, both in the daytime and at night. Enjoy! I know lots of you have them, and one of my favorite things is decorating it often for the seasons, and not to mention I love, love, love lights!!! My dad says that if I put a light on top of our house then people might think it was an airport! (lol) Yeah, that's how much I love lights!!!!!!!

Here it is...

Hope you enjoyed the pics of my new grapevine tree! If you can't tell, I have clear lights on it and orange lights as well. There are 450 clear lights and 250 orange lights! So what do your grapevine trees look like? I will have to post more pics as I change the colors on the tree for Christmas and the winter.

Hope that you have all had a perfect prim and productive day! Thanks for stoppin' by and come back again soon. :)

I Love Autumn!

Yes, I know that it has been a terribly long time since my last post. Uh huh, May 21st, I believe. Well, the only reason or answer that I have as to why it has been so long is that I have been really busy! I know what you are all thinking, aren't' we all Stacey. With me, when I get extremely busy, like I have been for the last several months, the computer and blogging end up on the bottom of my priority list. If you would like to read all about the happenings over these last few months, then I invite you to go over to my reilly farm wife blog and find out. :)

With my apology being given, I hope that you will come back and see me often. Yes, I have had the chance to go and pick up many neat items at the TS, garage sales and auctions. So, in the near future I hope to be able to take pictures of these items and then post them.

Fall is my favorite season for many reasons. First and foremost I love harvest and what farmgirl doesn't like to be on a tractor! Whew how I love, love, love it!!! Second, I love prim decorating and the colors that the season brings. Third, well, it means back to school time again and as a teacher, I can say that, yes, I do get anxiuos around that time too. Well, with that in mind, I thought that after I took about 40 pictures today around the outside of my home that I would share some of them with you. Thankfully the wind has not been too damaging on my things, seeing how it was blowing at 40 miles an hour last night! Without further delay, here are some pictures from around our farmstead. Enjoy!

Happy Fall Y'all!!! I hope that you enjoyed the pictures that I had to share. No, I do not have much done in my home, but I will be sure to post pictures when I get that all finished as well. Usually I am done with putting up Halloween decorations, but this year I am going to be lucky to get up my fall decor by the middle of October. Thanks for stopping by and come back soon. Until next time, have a blessed day!

Perfect prims and blessings,
